Your e-TAG should always beep when you travel through toll points. If your tag doesn't beep, you will be charged a no tag in vehicle fee of $0.75 per trip. Avoid the fees, take the health check:

    A quick guide to the beeps: 
    1 beep = everything is okay 
    3 beeps = low balance, make a top-up 
    4 beeps = account suspended, urgent action on your account is required to keep it active and avoid fees 
  • To avoid the No Tag in Vehicle fee, ensure you travel with your tag. Start again
    If you removed your e-TAG on purpose, that's OK, however you will incur a No Tag In Vehicle Fee when you travel. A fee of $0.75 applies per CityLink trip. To avoid the fees, ensure you travel with your tag.

    3. Choose 'Order e-TAG holder'
