A strong United Voice contingent joined more than 200 other volunteers at Debney Meadows Primary School for the 21st annual Clean Up Australia Day.

CityLink Neighbourhood Connections Program Coordinator Bronwyn Riddell, said "It's a great chance to bring the community together to clean up and celebrate the local area by doing a hard day's work together."

Local residents, church groups, United Voice members, and North Melbourne Footballers Ben Ross and Scott Thompson together filled 170 rubbish bags.

Family Day Out
FRI 17 DEC 10

Over 40 families from Flemington's African community came together at Woodlands Historic Park for a CityLink Neighbourhood Connections planting day. Together, with local environmental groups, they planted over 200 trees.

Students from the last Kokoda Annual Youth Trek also helped out on the day. The LHMU-backed program takes youth from Melbourne's west up the famous Papa New Guinean track, helping them to build self esteem and leadership skills.

Spring Planting Day

Everyone pitched in to plant seedlings and 1,655 native plants along MacArthur Road and The Avenue at the City of Melbourne's annual Spring Planting Day at Royal Park.

The focus of the day was to enhance the local habitat for native birds and insects, and help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
