Registering a taxi with CityLink
A taxi driver is not permitted to pass on tolls to the passenger unless they have the following:
1. Taxi e-TAG® device and Taxi e-TAG holder with e-TAG correctly placed in the e-TAG holder
2. Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) stickers explaining the toll procedure and prices to passengers. The taxi owner must register the vehicles with CityLink in order to receive the holder and the stickers.

Opening a taxi account
The Taxi e-TAG device qualifies the taxi driver for a reduced toll and the right to charge that toll on to a passenger. Only drivers with a valid taxi driver's accreditation can obtain Taxi e-TAG devices. To open a taxi driver or owner account you must first visit the CityLink Customer Centre and show your taxi driver’s accreditation in person.

Every taxi registered with CityLink by the taxi owner requires three stickers (to be placed on the rear side windows and the dashboard) that state the VTD’s rules for the passengers who choose to travel on CityLink in a registered taxi.
