Express lane
Only taxis, buses and VHA/VHC vehicles may use the express lane on CityLink during the times stated on the CityLink signage.

Weight/height restrictions on CityLink
If your vehicle is over-weight, over 4.6 metres in height, or it does not comply with all VicRoads requirements, you must call the CityLink traffic control room on (03) 9674 2001 at least one day before travel. We will be able to provide you with specific travel instructions for your vehicle, a written consent to travel, or if necessary, with alternative options.
CityLink signs
There are prominent signs at 5km, 2km and 1km intervals on the freeway approaches, advising motorists that they are approaching, entering or leaving a toll road. At each interchange CityLink has signs advising motorists of the need to purchase a CityLink pass or open an account before entering CityLink.
Signage
We are constantly looking at ways to improve our signs and to promote to both interstate and international visitors the different ways to access the benefits that CityLink offers.
The CityLink signs, which can be identified by blue and yellow signs, are aimed at ensuring safe and informed travel for our customers. The purpose of the signs is to convey necessary information in the simplest possible message and to ensure that motorists are not overwhelmed or endangered while driving.
Diversions onto CityLink
If you are directed into the tunnel by Victoria Police acting under a traffic diversion plan and you exit CityLink at the next available off-ramp you will not be charged by CityLink.
