Traffic and work alerts for Monash-CityLink-West Gate Upgrade Project until 29 August 2008
For your travelling convenience, please be advised that the following works will be happening on the Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade project.
Southern Link Section
Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August 2008
The left hand lane of the CityLink carriageway outbound will be closed at Yarra Boulevard from 10:00pm Friday 22 August through until 9:30pm Sunday 24 August.
The centre lane of the CityLink carriageway outbound will be closed at Yarra Boulevard from 10:00pm Friday 22 August through until 1:00am Saturday 23 August.
The Yarra Boulevard entry ramp will remain open for the duration of these works.

There will be a double lane closure on the CityLink carriageway inbound, between Toorak Road and the Yarra River crossing, from 10:00pm through until 5:00am the following morning.
Wednesday 27 August 2008
There will be a double lane closure on the CityLink carriageway outbound, between Burnley Street and the Yarra River crossing, from 11:00pm 27 August through until 5:00am the following morning.
The closure will switch from right and centre lanes to left and centre lanes throughout the duration of the closure. There will be one through lane available at all times for the duration of the works.
The Yarra Boulevard exit ramp will be closed from 8:00pm through until 11:00pm.
Those wishing to exit at Yarra Boulevard are advised to exit at Toorak Road to Williams Road.
There will be a fully signed detour route on the roadside.

There will be a double lane closure on the CityLink carriageway inbound, between Toorak Road and the Yarra River Crossing, from 10:00pm through until 5:00am the following morning.
Reasons for works
Works are being carried out as part of the Southern Link Upgrade project.
The Southern Link Upgrade section of the Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade includes the construction of an additional operating lane in each direction from the eastern Burnley and Domain tunnel portals, to where CityLink joins the Monash freeway just east of Glenferrie Road.
The upgrade will aim to reduce peak hour travel times, improve reliability along the freeway and improve safety.
Please note: During these works, traffic speeds along this stretch during the works times stated above will be reduced to 60km to maintain the safety of workers and motorists. Please observe the speed limit and drive safely.
